Weathering

Weathering is known as nature’s effect on shingles and weather enhanced deterioration of roofing system components. This includes the expanding and contracting of shingles, irregular loss of shingle granules, and negative effects on a roof’s water shedding ability. If the attic is overly hot in the summer, it can virtually bake the shingles like cookies on a baking sheet causing curling and clawing. Proper attic ventilation prevents these problems and allows for proper air flow and essential circulation.
